Sandals fêtes Miss MoBay finalists
Finalists of the Miss Montego Bay Pageant were recently hosted to a five-star global gourmet dining experience and etiquette training session at the award-winning Sandals Montego Bay resort. The four-course meal, carefully curated and presented by the resort’s Executive Chef Salvatore Cusimano, served as a part of the continued exposure to the eight finalists and was well received by all participants.
Executive director of the pageant, Theresa Walker, expressed her gratitude for the ongoing partnership and support from the resort.
“We are grateful to Sandals for hosting us and showcasing the luxury resort experience to our ladies. This brand reflects my belief of being the best you can be and we want the ladies to see the constant work that goes into being the best. Sandals shows us that we can evolve as human beings into a better version of ourselves, and just by walking into this space they learn how to be better versions of themselves. Thank you for giving them this opportunity,” she said.
Christopher Elliott, general manager of Sandals Montego Bay, spoke on the partnership.
“It is the resort’s honour to host the ladies of the Miss Montego Bay Pageant for the second consecutive year. It is important to aid in the development of our young people and this comes in various ways such as the experiences they garnered while spending this time with us. We commend the pageant’s mission to ‘Empower Women and Grow our City’ and these young ladies have a bright future ahead of them as Montegonians and citizens of Jamaica. We are indeed elated that we get to impress our future leaders in this setting and look forward to working with any like-minded organisation to provide exposure and help them achieve their full potential,” said Elliott.
The grand coronation for Miss Montego Bay Pageant is scheduled for the Grand-A-View Restaurant and Convention Centre in Montego Bay, St James, on Sunday, December 5.
