Alicia Taylor for ‘Woman Ignite’
Gospel singer Alicia Taylor will be part of an ensemble of performers who will minister in song at the Woman Ignite Success Summit, scheduled for January 27-28 at the AC Hotel in St Andrew.
The second staging of the summit has attracted over 15 local and international speakers and music ministers, including Ghanaian-born Dr Jackie Greene, who is wife to American gospel musician and pastor, Travis Greene. Other speakers include author and business consultant, Dr Joan Wright Good; attorney Rochelle Gapere, high performance coach Natalie Taylor; marriage and family therapist, Dr Carla Dunbar; licensed financial advisor and author, Deborah Allen; motivational speaker, Evangelist Althea Stoddart, among others. The two-day event is designed to empower participants in the areas of business, career, entrepreneurship, finance and wealth, blended families, marriage, relationships, and physical wellness.
In an interview with the Jamaica Observer shortly after the event’s launch last Thursday, Taylor expressed her enthusiasm for being a part of the proceedings.
“Being a part of the Woman Ignite Success Summit really does feel like an honour. I really don’t take these opportunities for granted nor do I take them lightly. It’s such a powerful conference, and just to really be a part of it again, to really impact people’s lives and to be impacted myself, because I was so completely blessed being a part of it. I’m excited and truly humbled,” said Taylor.
Woman Ignite Success Summit founder and One Group CEO Keneshia Nooks-Blake explained: “The Woman Ignite Success Summit has gone leaps and bounds since we launched in January this year. The summit continues to highlight issues that affect the woman and provides a safe zone for them to become real with each other and themselves. For next year, we have managed to attract at least five speakers from the US, while gaining the attention of a range of local pastors and leaders in business. Our panel of speakers are majority female and the range of topics are very practical; providing guidance for how to succeed in everyday life.”
“Our foundation works to connect women 18-35 years to their goals for education, employment, financial, mental and physical well-being. Our aim is to provide hope, healing and a firm foundation for young women across Jamaica and throughout the region,” she continued.
Joining Taylor in entertainment are female gospel worshippers Nadine Blair (main principal of gospel outfit Perpetual Praise), Andrea McCurdy, Trevelle Clark Whyne, Sadra Madonna Lindsay, Khamiele Lawrence, Osheen Jarrett, and Christina Broderick. They will also come together to deliver musical ministries as part of the full Woman Ignite Success Summit experience.
Taylor, who has been ministering the gospel for 15 years, is known for songs including To Worship at Your Feet, Dear God, and Forever More.
In 2020, she released the five-song EP Dear God. Her latest single titled Abide is to be released later this month.
