KINGSTON, Jamaica – Two security guards were found dead with gunshot wounds at the premises of China Harbour Engineering Company (CHEC) in the Six Miles, St Andrew area on Monday morning. Another security guard is missing.

The deceased have not yet been identified.

Police report that explosions were heard in the vicinity of the CHEC premises sometime after 11pm on Sunday. A search was conducted of the area and two security officers were found shot to death – one of them was found in a car trunk while the other was found in bushes on the compound.

A third security officer is missing. His vest and radio were found on the premises. Deputy Superintendent of Police, Coleridge Minto told OBSERVER ONLINE that detectives are combing the area in an effort to find the missing guard.

“We are still on the scene with the detectives and we are searching the area trying to identify whether or not that person is still here,” Minto said. “We are hopeful that we will find him alive.”
