Classic Neutrals With Yours Truly Rochele

Even though the colour trend declared for 2023 by the Pantone Institute is Viva Magenta, local fashion brand Yours Truly Rochele, helmed by Rochele Spencer, is showing us what timeless black and white style is all about.

The monochrome palette is a constant in the seasonal fashion cycle and should be a staple of every woman’s wardrobe. It is also the most versatile and easiest to wear of all colour combinations. Spencer’s newest collection, Spring/Summer 2023, features classic black and white silhouettes from clean cuts to feminine flares.

“My goal in designing this Spring/Summer 23 collection was to create timeless pieces that women could wear, again and again, styling them in different ways. I designed the pieces considering what the YTR woman enjoys doing and envisioned how she would look doing these things. I categorised the pieces into leisure, corporate, brunch and date looks, and included separates which allow women to have fun putting outfits together while adding their own flair which is what the YTR woman is all about. The black and white palette corresponded effortlessly with the designs,” shared Spencer with Tuesday Style Fashion (TSF)

Spencer also gave us an in on her choice of fabric type. “I take pride in not just the look but also the feel and the quality of my fabric selections. I used a variety of high-quality woven fabrics such as linen, heavy cotton and cotton blends, a few polyester and knits. I wanted the pieces to not just look but feel luxurious, so we invested a lot of time and effort determining the best fabric choices and techniques used to finish each type of fabric,” she shared.

If you usually like to play it safe, now might be the time to switch it up and try something different. Inject a little attitude by mixing unexpected black and white textures and patterns.

TSF is here to guide you!
