Soca Forever, the perfect gift

Soca Forever gave revellers the prefect Christmas gift at the Ranny Williams Entertainment Centre in St Andrew on Friday, December 18, 2022.

The event had a carnival-like atmosphere as partygoers were jumping, waving hands and rags throughout the evening. Attending to the crowd’s musical needs were Trinidad’s DJ Aaron Fingal, DJ Lantern, Marlon Musique, DJ Richie Ras, and DJ Rico.

The organisers must be commended for brilliantly maintaining the Christmas theme at the soca event. Upon entrance, patrons were given the opportunity to take their photo at a ‘Naughty or Nice’ backdrop.

“Our dress code was ‘naughty or nice’ so ladies who were naughty came out and were more skimpily attired. The ones who were nice, dressed more conservative. So the backdrop helped to bring this theme alive. So if you were on Santa’s naughty list, you would be directed to take a picture by the naughty side of the booth, and if you were good, you would take a picture over the opposite end of the booth,” Marlon “Musique” Campbell, co-promoter of the event, told the Jamaica Observer.

Campbell explained that patrons were thrilled by this concept.

“They absolutely loved it. It was another opportunity for the ladies to dress up, feel confident, sexy and enjoy themselves for this festive season. The welcome drinks were also a hit. We had a rum-infused welcome drink that was given in a branded Soca Forever cup,” he said.

He explained that he was pleased with the turnout of the event .

“As most of our patrons have been saying on social media, the event got 20 out of 10. We certainly had significant amount of people in attendance. We are highly grateful seeing that we had to change date because of the Burna Boy concert. We did really well, our sponsors are pleased, and all our food vendors did really well,” said Campbell.

Digital marketer of the Council Entertainment Danielle Insang had high praises for the event.

“The thing about soca, it doesn’t matter where you are or who you with, you’re always going to enjoy it. What makes Soca Forever so special is that we already have a close relationship with the patrons before they even arrive. So every time patrons attend the event, it’s always a familiar great energy and I think that is what makes the party so great; along with the fact that it’s drink inclusive and plus we have coolers welcome this time around. You never typically see the two. Plus, we had amazing set of DJs who provided excellent music,” Insang said.

The next staging of Soca Forever will be March 25, 2023.
