
Two arrested after allegedly snatching fallen money
KINGSTON, Jamaica –The St Andrew Central Police charged two men with robbery with aggravation following an incident on Hope Road in Kingston 10 on Thursday.
Charged are 30-year-old, Qwaine Moffatt of Jackson Road, Kingston 2 and, 32 year-old Akeem McCalpin of Goldsmith Villa, Kingston 7.
Reports are that about 5:30 pm, the complainant was walking along the roadway when J$30,000 fell from his bag. While the complainant attempted to retrieve his money, McCalpin pounced upon him and brandished a knife. Both accused men subsequently fled the scene with the money.
A report was made to lawmen who were on patrol in the area and the accused were apprehended.
They were later charged after a question and answer session with the police.
Their court dates are being finalised.
