Tina Clayton third in 60m in Arkansas
KINGSTON, Jamaica-Two-time World Under-20 women’s 100m champion Tina Clayton finished third in the final of the women’s 60m Open in 7.38 seconds on Friday’s first day of the Tyson Invitational at the University of Arkansas.
Clayton had run much faster in the first round, clocking 7.24 seconds, in her first race indoors.
American Jada Baylark won the final in 7.23 seconds, ahead of another Jamaican Natasha Marrison-7.30 seconds.
Also at the Tyson meet on Friday, Amoi Brown ran a personal best 8.04 seconds to win the women’s 60m hurdles, a massive improvement over the 8.27 seconds she ran a week ago in Boston.
Ruseheen McDonald, ran a personal best 47.05 seconds for the indoor 400m to place 10th overall, while Jevaughn Powell of the University of Florida ran 47.24 seconds; former Cornwall College runner Chadwick Richards of the University of Iowa ran a season’s best 47.25 seconds; Jamie Farr of Arkansas clocked 47.25 seconds; Kemar Mowatt returned 47.39 seconds and Devontie Archer ran 47.47 seconds.
In the women’s 400m, Nickisha Pryce of Arkansas ran 52.35 seconds, her teammate Joanne Reid clocked a personal best 52.72 seconds, while former Alphansus Davis High runner Ramonia Clarke of the University of Nebraska, also ran a lifetime best 55.89 seconds.
