Red Stripe issues warning over bogus anniversary promotion
KINGSTON, Jamaica— Red Stripe is warning customers to be on the lookout for fraudulent website links from persons claiming to be associated with the beverage company.
The company on Tuesday advised customers that the ‘Red Stripe 105th Anniversary Promotion Subsidy’, which promises cash, is not connected with the Red Stripe brand.
“Red Stripe has become aware of a website link circulating online entitled “Red Stripe 105th Anniversary Promotion Subsidy”, which includes the unauthorised use of Red Stripe’s trade name and trademarks and falsely promises an opportunity to win cash. We would like to advise our customers and the public that this ‘promotion’ is a hoax and is not connected to the Red Stripe brand,” Red Stripe said.
The company went on to call for the immediate cessation of the distribution of the link.
“This unauthorised use of Red Stripe’s trade name and trademarks is contrary to the law. Any person/persons engaged in this practice should immediately cease and desist the posting, sharing and broadcasting and re-posting, re-sharing and rebroadcasting of this website link,” the beverage company said.
The beer company stated that for accurate information on promotions or offerings, customers should visit their website at www.redstripebeer.com or follow their social media platforms @redstripe.
