Jermaine Fagan and Sizzla team up on ‘Free’
Deejay Jermaine Fagan has collaborated with iconic reggae and dancehall artiste Sizzla on a song titled ‘Free’. It was released last month.
“This song was written and recorded to celebrate the achievements of black people. It is important to remind our people about what we have achieved as a great race of people who were taken from Mother Africa and scattered all over the world. We must also treasure our freedom and remember that until we free our minds from the mental shackles placed on us by our oppressors, we will never be absolutely free,” said Fagan.
He reflected on working with Sizzla.
“Sizzla is one of my artistes, his albums Black Woman and Child and Praise Ye Jah have made a profound impact on me both as a songwriter and artiste. He is one of my greatest musical influences, and collaborating with him on this song was a wonderful experience. I am grateful to Stamma Ramma from New Road Entertainment and my studio engineer Jahnoi for helping to make this production a reality,” said the Atlanta-based Fagan.
Fagan, who is originally from Portmore, has three albums to his credit, More 2 Life (2005), Just A Simple Man (2007), and Cool Prince (2020).
