Waite to start in goal for Jamaica in Nations League match against Mexico
KINGSTON, Jamaica – Jahmali Waite will start in goal for Jamaica in their Group A semi-finals of the CONCACAF Nations League semi-finals against Mexico at Estadio Azteca in Mexico City Sunday evening.
The game that will start at 7:00 pm Jamaica time is a must win for Jamaica who are in second place on five points, two behind Mexico who needs only a draw.
With regular goalkeeper and captain Andre Blake absent because of injury, the Jamaican coaching staff has selected Waite to start between the sticks.
Damion Lowe of the Philadelphia Union, will wear the captain’s armband and will start in the defence that will include Amari Bell, Ethan Pinnock and Javaine Brown.
The midfield will see Daniel Johnson and Jamal Lowe while Leon Bailey, Bobby Reid, Ravel Morrison and Shamar Nicholson have been named as the forwards.
