KINGSTON, Jamaica – Two men have been charged following a shooting incident on February 7, that left them both injured.

Charged are 28-year-old Romaine Bennett, a labourer of Bryce Hill Road, Kingston 7, and 25-year-old Randy Cole, a tattoo artist of Waterloo district, Ewarton, St Catherine.

Bennett was charged with shooting with intent, wounding with intent, and unauthorised possession of a prohibited weapon, while Cole was charged with wounding with intent, unauthorised possession of a prohibited weapon and unauthorised possession of ammunition.

Reports from the Half-Way Tree Police are that about 9:00 pm, both men were allegedly involved in a gunfight and allegedly shot and injured each other. The police were summoned and the men were transported to hospital where they were admitted.

During a search of the area, one Taurus 9-millimetre pistol, a magazine containing one 9-millimetre cartridge, one Pietro Beretta 9-millimetre pistol, and a magazine loaded with thirteen 9-millimetre cartridges were found.

They were both charged following interviews and are awaiting arrangements for court
