KINGSTON, Jamaica— Hydel High School’s Alana Reid and Immaculate Conception’s Kayla Johnson completed sprint doubles on Saturday’s final day of the ISSA/GraceKennedy Boys’ and Girls’ Athletics Championships at the National Stadium.

Reid won the Class 1 200m to add to her 100m gold won on Wednesday while Johnson took the Class 4 equivalent.

Reid ran away from the field to win in 23.08 seconds (-2.0m/s), as Wolmer’s Girls’ Mickayla Gardner was second with 23.89 seconds and Holmwood Technical’s 400m champion Rickiann Russell took the bronze medal with 24.16 seconds.

Johnson ran 25.29 seconds (-1.4m/s) and finished ahead Hydel High’s Gabrielle Morgan who ran 25.54 seconds with Clarendon College’s Tresha-Lee Sutherland third with 25.58 seconds.

Shemonique Hazle who was second in the Class 2 100m final, won a close 200m, edging Lacovia High’s Sabrina Dockery on photo-finish after both were given the same time of 24.36 seconds running into a stiff headwind of -3.8m./s.

Bridgeport’s Brittney McCormack was third in 24.73 seconds.

In Class 3, Natrece East of Wolmer’s Girls’, turned the tables on 100m champion Theianna-Lee Terrelonge, winning with 24.20 seconds (-0.6m/s).

Terrelonge ran 24.64 seconds with Hydel High’s Onetta Mitchell taking third place in 24.92 seconds.
