Thank you, Chairman Freckleton
Dear Editor,
I wish to publicly commend the immediate past chairman of Alston High School Venris Freckleton and all other members of the board of management whose tenureship ended as of March 31, 2023.
In my capacity as dean of discipline and a member of the school’s senior management team, I benefited tremendously from the interactions I had with members of the board, particularly Chairman Freckleton. He is a man with amazing knowledge of the education system and a sound grasp of the intricacies of behaviour modification and psycho-social programmes.
Chairman Freckleton served our school with unmatched humility, accessibility, and deep devotion. Unfortunately, his tenureship as chairman has come to an end. I know that he remains passionate about service to community and country. It is my hope that as a country we can establish a sustainable system of appreciation and recognition for all the people who serve on school boards; especially board chairman who have to devote considerable time towards the fiduciary aspects of the school.
Thank you, Chairman Freckleton and all the other members of school boards in Jamaica. As volunteers you mean a lot to the education system.
The word is always love for our board members.
