On Saturday, April 1, Jamaica Producers Group honoured the long service of 101 team members serving its local businesses — the group’s corporate head office, JP Farms and Tortuga.

With its roots as a cooperative association founded by banana growers in the 1920s, JP has grown over the last century into a multinational conglomerate with a team spanning 13 locations in eight countries and consisting of more than 2,000 people, half of whom are based in Jamaica. Upon the conclusion of the amalgamation of the group’s material businesses with PanJam Investment Limited, and the official beginning of the Pan Jamaica Group, JP saw it as important to recognise, honour and celebrate the long-standing JP employees who were awarded for 10 to 36 years of dedicated service to the group’s businesses in Jamaica.

After Jamaica Producers (JP) Group Director Dahlia Kelly presented an award to Jeffrey Hall, CEO, JPG, for his 21-plus years of service to the conglomerate, both paused for a photo and, possibly, a moment of reflection.
Ahead of formalities, Jamaica Producers Group Chairman Charles Johnston and director Kathleen Moss took time for a conversation and some laughter.
Separating from the crowd, Novadeen Oakley, treasury and accounts analyst; Tevin Douglas, HR and business support officer; and Taneka Whyte-Groves, corporate financial controller, found company in each other’s presence.
Simone Pearson, group legal counsel and corporate secretary, Jamaica Producers Group, embraces her colleague Simone Saunderson, estate and depot manager, JP Farms, at the awards ceremony for long service members.
