PFAJ Link Cup KO games end in draw
KINGSTON, Jamaica— The teams in Thursday’s second set of PFAJ Link Cup quarterfinal games will have it all to do in next week’s return legs after both games played at the Anthony Spaulding Complex in Kingston ended in 1-1 draws.
Mt Pleasant FA came from a goal down to draw with Cavalier FC, while Chapleton Maroons who are facing relegation in the Premier League, held Harbour View in the second game.
Tivoli Gardens and Portmore United lead their ties against Dunbeholden and Molynes United from Wednesday’s games.
Tivoli Gardens beat Dunbeholden 2-0, while Portmore came from a goal down to beat Molynes United 2-1.
On Thursday, Chapleton who were hammered 4-0 by Vere United in the Premier League on Monday, took the lead when Osani Ricketts volleyed home a free kick from Evan Taylor on the left wing in the 21st minute.
Harbour View took four minutes to respond when Shawn Daley curled a left footer from the right wing into the far corner.
Earlier in the day, after a goalless first half, Ronaldo Webster fired Cavalier into the lead in the 50th minute but Atapharoy Bygrave pulled Mt Pleasant level in the 74th minute when his close range shot deflected past the Cavalier goalkeeper.
