Despite giving away loads of weight, hard to deny She’s My Destiny
While all eyes will be fixed on the native-bred three-year-old fillies as they take part in The Portmore feature, a lot of attention is expected to surround the $1.5-million Lady Geeta Trophy, where two of the top sprinters in the land, She’s My Destiny and Madelyn’s Sunshine, battle in the Graded Stakes/Open Allowance contest going 6 furlongs (1,200m).
The assessment of the seven horses entered below is given below.
1. SWEET MAJESTY: (5 b m by Soul Warrior – Bitter End) – Shows up every now and then with encouraging efforts. However, based on her last two efforts, Sweet Majesty cannot get a vote of confidence where winning is concerned.
2. EMPEROROFTHECATS: (4 b g by Emperor Hall – Laws Of The Cat) – Finished down the track in the recent Saint Cecelia Cup over 6 ½ furlongs (1,300m). That run can be thrown out the window, as Emperorofthecats is a much better horse than last effort suggested. Emperorofthecats is expected to run a much better race in this one.
3. SHE’S MY DESTINY: (5 ch m by Bern Identity – Woman Is Boss) – Speedy mare who was third behind stablemate I Am Fred and Runaway Algo in the Saint Cecelia Cup on April 8 over 6 ½ furlongs. With a half-furlong (100m) less to travel and less speed to contend with, She’s My Destiny should prove a tough nut to crack despite allowing lumps of weight to her six rivals.
4. MADELYN’S SUNSHINE (USA): (4 dk b/br f by Joe’s Son Joey – Madelyn’s Finest) – Returned to winning ways on April 10 when brushing aside rivals in the Easter Sprint Cup. Madelyn’s Sunshine made one move in the 5½-furlong (1,100m) contest to win by 3 ¼ lengths in a time of 1:05.3. If Madelyn’s Sunshine can turn up in that frame of mind once more, she can make one scrape again.
5. UNRULY BOSS: (5 ch h by Bern Identity – Force Factor) – Was a winner two starts back but against these, Unruly Boss cannot be given any chance of winning.
6. KING ARTHUR: (6 b g by Natural Selection – Geisha’s Art) – Former Jamaica Derby winner who has been holding his own in his races. King Arthur, who would prefer it longer, could run surprising well, after all he is the defending Lady Geeta champion.
7. PRESS CONFERENCE: (5 ch g by Twilight Time – Lady Shankari) – A winner on last in the class below who is going to find repeating an almost impossible task.
