JPS responds after Tell Claudienne’s intervention
Dear Claudienne,
I live overseas and I own land in Clarendon that I bought in the 1990s. The Jamaica Public Service Company (JPS) has trespassed on my land and installed a guy wire to prop up a utility pole without my permission. As it stands, it is blocking my driveway and hampering construction work being done on my property.
I have requested the JPS to remove the guy wire that was not on the land when I bought it, but it has not been removed.
I would appreciate your help.
TR
Dear TR,
When Tell Claudienne contacted the JPS in 2021, their legal department requested the volume and folio number for your property. After the JPS received the volume and folio information, a few months later your agent told Tell Claudienne that JPS workers visited the property and assured him that the guy wire would be removed. Your agent said that the JPS workers gave him a phone number to call to have the guy wire removed from your land. However, no one answered the phone when he called the number, your agent said.
After over a year of back and forth, Tell Claudienne notes that the Engineering Department of the JPS removed the guy wire from your property near the end of April 2023.
We wish you all the best.
