Barracks Road on brink of U-13 quarters
Barracks Road Primary could be the first team to book a spot in the quarter-finals of the St James Football Association VM Foundation Uplift Under-13 competition if they beat last-placed Adelphi Primary in their Zone C game at Wespow Park, set to start on Thursday at 12:30 pm.
Barracks Road Primary lead with nine points and another win would see them get at least second place after the penultimate round of games.
The former champions would win the zone today, if they win and the game between challengers Green Pond and Chetwood, both on six points, end in a draw.
Barracks Road have scored nine goals in their three games played and conceded one while Adelphi have conceded five in their three losses so far.
Maldon Primary and Albion Primary, both with three points, will meet in the second game of the day.
John Rollins Success Primary became the third school to win their third-straight game after they edged Catherine Hall 1-0 in their Zone D, top of the group game played at Wespow Park on Wednesday.
Kevin O’Gilvie’s 36th-minute goal was the decider, the first goal Catherine Hall had conceded all season and took Success Primary to the top with nine points.
Catherine Hall Primary, who had scored 11 goals in their first two games, are in second place with six points, one more than Buckingham Primary who drew 1-1 with St James Prep, while Farm Primary were awarded points when Pinnacle Academy failed to show up for their game.
Kevon Edwards gave Buckingham the lead in the 12th minute with his league-leading sixth goal but Giovanni Johnson equalised for St James Prep in the 45th minute to earn their first point.
