Wednesday, May 10, 2023

On Saturday, horse racing fans around the world were on the edges of their seats (for a little over two minutes, at least) as they watched jockey Javier Castellano finally win the Kentucky Derby after 15 tries. And The Rock was in on the action, as several gathered at the Terra Nova All-Suite Hotel for the American Women’s Group of Jamaica’s (AWG) ‘Fashionable Derby’, a watch party and fashion show to benefit the organisation’s scholarship fund and charities.

And while seersucker and pastels are usually prime derby day fashion, several Rock-fab attendees were spotted making their mark in white.

Here are a few of our faves, plus looks fresh from the Signatures Boutique runway.

Pump It Up – Realtor Erica Johnson-Plummer finished an all-white ensemble with a pair of red pumps. (Photo: Naphtali Junior)
What’s At Stake? – Sotheby’s International Realty CEO and Fashionable Derby event coordinator Julian Dixon was positively chic in the ultra-feminine ‘Elia’ midi dress from House of CB. (Photo: Naphtali Junior)
Ruched & Ready– Brand and Business Development Manager Jasmine Aslan slipped into a silky ruched midi from Style Savvy Boutique for the occasion. (Photo: Naphtali Junior)
One Chic Chick! – Jamaica National Customer Service Representative Peta-Gaye Dixon zhuzhed up her white tea dress with a yellow fascinator, and perfectly manicured nails. (Photo: Naphtali Junior)
Just The Ticket – Sagicor Investments Regional Manager Shelly-Ann Morgan topped off a white number from Coochianna’s with a canary yellow fascinator from Roses Couture. (Photo: Naphtali Junior)

Front-Runner – A BCBG dress, Saint Laurent Tribute sandals, Dior Lady D-Joy bag, and tangerine fascinator from Lakeem Hats, completed Arel Limited CEO Patricia Henry’s derby day style.(Photo: Naphtali Junior)
