Muhammad confirmed for Racers Grand Prix, Richardson reportedly ‘interested’
American former world record holder in the 400m hurdles Dalilah Muhammad has been confirmed for the Racers Grand Prix in early June.
OBSERVER ONLINE understands that Muhammad, who won bronze in the 400m hurdles at the World Championships in Oregon last year, is set to compete in her pet event at the local meet which is making a return to the track and field calendar after a three-year hiatus due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
In the meantime, another American, sprinter Sha’Carri Richardson has reportedly expressed an interest in competing at the meet through her management, however there has been no confirmed booking or of an interest from the athlete herself.
Richardson has been in fine form this season, and last week ran a world leading 10.76 seconds to beat Jamaica’s Shericka Jackson in the season opening Wanda Diamond League meeting in Doha.
Local and international athletes already confirmed for the Racers Grand Prix include World Championships 200m gold medallist Shericka Jackson, Olympic champion Hansle Parchment and 400m world record holder Wayde van Niekerk.
