G2K St James chapter treats patients at CRH maternity ward on Mother’s Day
ST JAMES, Jamaica – Over 30 mothers received gift baskets from members of the St James chapter of Generation 2000 (G2K) who visited the maternity ward at the Cornwall Regional Hospital on Mother’s Day.
G2K is the young professional arm of the Jamaica Labour Party.
President of G2K St James chapter, Tamaine Rodney, told OBSERVER ONLINE that the membership felt compelled to honour the mothers on their special day.
“Today we are here on Mother’s Day to deliver some gift baskets to the mothers on the maternity ward at the Cornwall Regional Hospital,” Rodney said.
“We just felt the need to come out and show appreciation to the mothers who have worked so hard to create the men and women of this great country. We believe that without question this is a part of the mandate here at G2K to have a social outreach programme and this is just something that the majority of us in our chapter, and organisation by extension, felt was a great way to show a level of appreciation to the people of Jamaica, and especially our mothers,” he added.
