Beauty by Doctors Medical Spa secures title sponsorship for JIBE

ST JAMES, Jamaica — Beauty by Doctors Medical Spa has secured the title sponsorship for this year’s staging of the highly-anticipated Jamaica International Beauty Expo (JIBE).

The tradeshow, with its focus on the lucrative beauty and wellness industry, will be held under the theme ‘Business of Beauty’.

The event is set for the Montego Bay Convention Centre in St James from June 23 – 25.

Speaking at the launch of the event, which was held last Tuesday at Icon Feareview Mall in Montego Bay, Beauty by Doctors CEO Dr Charmaine Thomas, outlined the company’s motivation in signing on as title sponsors.

“As the title sponsor for this year’s Jamaica International Beauty Expo (JIBE), we are committed to supporting and promoting the growth of the beauty industry in Jamaica and beyond. Our team of skilled physicians and specialists are dedicated to delivering safe, effective, and personalised treatments that cater to the unique needs of each client,” she said.

She added: “The Jamaica International Beauty Expo is the perfect platform and a unique opportunity to showcase the latest trends, products, and techniques that are driving innovation in our industry. Beauty by Doctors is proud to support that effort to create opportunities for growth and development, particularly in the beauty tourism space.”

“In a world that is increasingly focused on health and wellbeing, wellness tourism has become a major industry, valued at $4.4 trillion in 2020. In Jamaica, we have the potential to tap into this market and showcase the unique culture, spaces, and treatments that make our country a truly one-of-a-kind destination,” Thomas noted. “So, let us work together to promote Jamaica as a premier destination for wellness tourism. Let us showcase our unique blend of natural resources, cultural heritage, and hospitality to the world.”

Guest speaker at the event, international business development executive, P Falasha Harrison, stated that Jamaica is sleeping on its potential in the global beauty and wellness industry and that as a country, Jamaica needs to carve out a niche supplying natural products to the multi-billion-dollar marketplace.

“By investing in our homegrown talent, embracing eco-friendly practices, and nurturing our unique cultural heritage, we can create a beauty industry that thrives on the world stage. Let us work tirelessly to establish Jamaica as a powerhouse in the beauty and wellness industry.” Harrison said.

As a devoted advocate for Jamaica, Harrison challenged Jamaicans and the government to focus on the power that lies within our culture and the importance of nurturing and protecting our resources, investing in our people and ensuring Jamaica remains a thriving and prosperous nation for generations to come.

One of the main pillars of JIBE is to assist in developing and providing a platform for the growth of the beauty and wellness industry in Jamaica.

JIBE coordinator, Suzette Brown, highlighted that the expo has and will continue to foster growth on a global scale, as it facilitates exhibitors from the Caribbean, Canada, the United States, the United Kingdom and Africa.
