Calculus given the edge over rising star Blue Vinyl
On tomorrow’s 10-race card, the three-year-old and upwards Open Allowance call for the Seeking My Trophy is the top rated call on the day.
A field of six exceptional runners will compete over 7 ½ furlongs (1,500m), vying for the major share the $1.29 million total prize.
Below, The Supreme Racing Guide takes a closer look at each runner and their chances of success.
1. UNRULY BOSS: (5 ch h by Bern Identity – Force Factor) – Put in a decent effort at the races on last when finishing in third place, 3 ¾ lengths behind stablemates She’s My Destiny and Madelyn’s Sunshine in the Lady Geeta Trophy over 6 furlongs (1,200m). While that was an encouraging effort, Unruly Boss is not expected to put up another brave spin especially going a distance which is a tad long for him.
2. CALCULUS: (5 b h by Sensational Slam – Trinket Box) – Currently the champion stayer in the land. Calculus was just a length and three-quarters behind I Am Fred in the The Viceroy Trophy over one mile (1,600m) on April 22 after making strong headway in the deep stretch. Although he would prefer it longer than 7 ½ furlongs, Calculus should go well over the trip and could get up in time when it matters most. He, however, gives away a lot of weight to his rivals, which is strong determing factor.
3. MONEY MONSTER: (6 b g by Casual Trick – She’s Traditional) – Did well to win the recent King’s Plate over 7 furlongs (1,400m) at the Overnight Allowance level. Money Monster steps up to compete and is going to find it very difficult to repeat.
4. SISTREN TREASURE (USA): (3 b f by Brethren – Katira) – Has no chance where winning is concerned.
5. RUNAWAY ALGO (USA): (4 ch c by Algorithms – Misunify) – Consistent and talented runner who was beaten into second place by I Am Fred in the Saint Cecelia Cup over 6 ½ furlongs (1,300m) on April 8. However, Runaway Algo was an easy 12-length winner of the “Lindy” Delapenha Memorial Trophy over a mile on February 26. Runaway Algo should report for this assignment in tip-top shape and is expected to fight to the end.
6. BLUE VINYL: (4 ch c by Bern Identity – Blufield) – Unbeaten in two starts this season so far. Blue Vinyl comes into this race after a 12 ½ length win in the Jamaica Veterinary Board World Vet Day Trophy over one mile on April 29. Blue Vinyl has shown tremendous improvement this season, and so another good run is expected from him.
