Team Jamaica return with 25 artistic swimming medals
THE Artistic Swimming division of the Aquatic Sports Association of Jamaica (ASAJ) is beaming with pride as its team returned home with medals after competing at the Worldwide Invitational Meet in Coral Springs, Florida, recently.
The team comprised 18 young girls from the Island Aquatics Synchro Club, who all won at least one medal in their routines in the individual, trio, and team events. Eight of these girls also placed in the top 12 of the figures category.
In total they won 25 medals — 15 gold, four silver, and six bronze — which ASAJ is proud of as it is an improvement on the 10 won last year by Jamaica’s team of eight girls.
While in Coral Springs the girls were also able to meet with Jamaica Consul General Oliver Mair.
ASAJ says it is also thankful for the work done by coaches Olga Novokshchenova, Yoaris Milan, and Robyn Chin Sang, a coach who also serves as the vice-president for artistic swimming at ASAJ.
ASAJ also thanked the parents and followers of the team for their continued support.
