Portland loses another giant in a week
Portland, Jamaica – The town of Port Antonio, and by extension the parish of Portland, has been thrown into mourning as businessman Patrick Lee died early Saturday morning after a period of illness.
On Wednesday, musician and businessman Lenford Richards also died.
Patrick Lee operated Lees Maxi Mart commonly known as Cum-Cum in Port Antonio which sells a variety of items.
Lee has been described as a kindhearted man who assisted schools and community groups in various ways.
He is a past student of Titchfield High School.
Lee was also a Justice of the Peace and a philanthropist. He also ventured into politics and ran on the Jamaica Labour Party’s ticket in Eastern Portland in the December 2011 election. He lost to the late Dr Lynvale Broomfield 8,070 to 9,316.
