Last Sunday was celebrated as Father’s Day and several fathers from the entertainment and business communities came out enjoy the offerings at Essynce The Fashionable Brunch.

Held at Polyannas, 8 Stanton Terrace in St Andrew, the event featured diverse musical juggling from the lines of ZJ Chrome, DJ Delly, DJ Lank, and DJ Heavy D Chromatic.

Promoter of the popular Sandz series Andrew Ellis; KGN 5 promoter Chavaughn O’Neil; and Careem Mullings, co-owner of 876 Terrace Bar and Grill, were among the fathers in attendance soaking up the fun.

Carlo Champino, event coordinator, was in high spirits about the execution of the event.

“The objective was to host a chic, stylish, fashion-forward event, where trendsetters, influencers and enthusiasts of fashion would showcase their own unique take on fashion and style; all while surrounded by delectable cuisine, refreshing beverages, and an unforgettable atmosphere. Did we achieve that objective? I would say we can tick that box,” Champino opined.

He continued: “The vibe was excellent, persons came out in true Jamaican style — fashionably late — but they came out looking absolutely amazing. The venue was filled with the sweet aroma of the food provided by Timber lounge. As persons, [as they] walked in, they were greeted by our hosts and handed complimentary coconut cocktails infused with Remy Martin, provided by our partners CPJ Limited. The DJs gave us the best hits from the 1990s to current hits. They delivered on the experience and the patrons were entertained.”

According to Champino, the support from patrons, which numbered close to 1,000, was the highlight for him.

“We would say it was the support we received from the patrons. They came out fashionably, truly trusted our vision, and really enjoyed themselves. We targeted around 500 persons, but we ended up getting over 900.”

This was the first staging of the event which Champino intends will be an annual affair.

“Yes, this was the first staging and I must again thank the patrons for trusting our vision as they definitely came out looking amazing. Yes we have already started the planning of the next staging for next year ” he said.
