#NationalTrials: Hickling crowned long jump champion

KINGSTON, Jamaica – Tissanna Hickling of Ricketts Performance was crowned the national long jump champion after leaping to a personal best jump of 6.85m at the National Senior and Junior Championships on Thursday.

Chanice Porter (unattached) finished second with a jump of 6.72m. NCAA outdoor champion Ackelia Smith of the University of Texas rounded out the top three with 6.66m.

However, only Hickling and Smith have produced the qualifying standard of 6.85m for the World Athletics Championships in Budapest, Hungary in August.
