Canadian teaching assistant fired for racy OnlyFans account
Canada — A Canadian teaching assistant is fighting to win her job back after she was fired for making OnlyFans content.
According to an article from the New York Post, Kristin MacDonald, 35, received a letter from board officials issuing her termination after eight years as a teaching assistant. The letter stated that MacDonald’s “misconduct in this matter is egregious.”
MacDonald, who revealed she earned $1,000 CAD every two weeks, said she turned to OnlyFans to help support her family and young daughter.
“It’s so far-fetched to me. It seems very petty,” the ex-teacher said. “I feel strongly that in this day and age, we should be able to do what we want as long as it’s not illegal.”
“I’m not hurting anybody,” she reportedly added.
MacDonald, who reportedly worked with special needs students, received an initial letter from the school district on April 28, when she was informed she needed to remove all accounts she promoted explicit content on or choose to be let go.
“You’re directed to immediately cease all activity and to remove all online social media accounts including but not limited to Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, and OnlyFans,” the letter from Terry Fox Secondary School reportedly said. “Failure to do so may result in disciplinary action up to and including termination.”
MacDonald’s content on the adult platform includes racy, bikini photos under the pseudonym “Miss Ava James.”
MacDonald has since been in contact with a union to help get her job back.
