It’s almost impossible to ignore the marketing strategy behind the Barbie movie. Indeed, even our Caribbean fashionistas are seemingly under the influence.

The movie, which is a live-action remake of the much-loved Mattel doll which has stolen the hearts of thousands since its 1959 debut, premieres worldwide on Thursday, July 20th… Style mavens have already begun to turn out haute ‘lewks’ in, you guessed it: the signature Barbie hue.

From Jamaican-blooded fashion designer Brandon Blackwood’s perfectly crafted silhouettes to T&T’s Nicki Minaj’s (the self-proclaimed Barbie) red carpet ensembles, Page 2 is under the Barbie influence.
