Just in time for the long, lazy days of summer
IT came just in time for the long, lazy days of summer, when parents are tearing their hair out trying to decide what to do with their little bundles of energy home from day care and kindergarten.
Nutcracker’s Super-Duper Colouring Book has hit the shelves of bookstores with a product authors Rochell Daley and Howard Campbell say is designed to hold the preschoolers captive and ignite creativity among them.
“The Super-Duper Colouring Book features 63 large, bold images to guarantee colouring ease and encourage hand-eye coordination,” said Daley. “Additionally, the images were carefully selected and labelled, enabling children to easily identify and connect with characters and elements such as animals, professionals, Jamaican symbols, food, and playthings.”
With a strong commitment to meeting the needs of the target audience, the authors went above and beyond by actively seeking feedback from the appropriate grade-level teachers, incorporating a child’s creative input, and ensuring the book perfectly caters to preschoolers, she adds.
“We wanted to create a colouring book that not only sparks imagination but also aligns with the early childhood curriculum. Our colouring book is not just a commodity; it is a tool that can ignite creativity and improve problem-solving and social skills in our young children,” Daley told the Jamaica Observer.
The launch of the Super-Duper Colouring Book was accompanied by a series of promotional activities, notably a colouring contest that filled children, teachers, and parents with elation as they showcased their artistic skills at both the Early Childhood Commission’s conference and the Emmanuel Early Childhood Development Centre in the months of May and June.
The contest featured the Super-Duper staff, inclusive of a cheerful clown that was popular with the kids.
“We are thrilled to be the exclusive distributor of the Super-Duper Colouring Book,” said Nigel Walker, CEO of BookZone Limited. “This exceptional creation combines fun, education, and cultural relevance, making it an invaluable resource for both teachers and students. We are proud to be part of the journey in bringing this Jamaican-made gem to the hands of eager learners.”
Howard Campbell, founder of the 26-year-old Howard Campbell and Associates (HCA) declared: “This is just the beginning! The Super-Duper Colouring Book is the first in the Super-Duper series.
HCA boasts a long track record in curriculum publishing, consulting, and training, with a mission to empower learners and their educators through innovative, world-class publications. “The Nutcracker brand continues to deliver exceptional educational resources in both print and digital formats, redefining the learning experience and paving the way for educational success,” according to the website www.howardcampbell.biz/books/super-duper-colouring-book/.
