Red Stripe circles ‘The Social Square’
RED Stripe circles ‘The Social Square’ skill of young digital marketers hit the spotlight recently when the company hosted a corporate mixer to celebrate World Social Media Day.
During the event scores of digital creatives and Red Stripe staff gathered at the Vibes Sports Bar in Red Stripe’s Spanish Town Road brewery for an engaging panel discussion and lively social event, observed under the theme ‘The Social Square’.
“We acknowledge the impact of the creative industry, especially in today’s society where brands are increasingly depending on the knowledge and expertise of creatives to propel their company’s image and drive their messages home,” said Red Stripe Head of Corporate Affairs Dianne Ashton-Smith.
“We are always happy to partner with young creatives and support their journey wholeheartedly. We know that social media has a significant impact on consumer choice and is an important part of building your reputation and brand,” added Ashton-Smith.
The theme for World Social Media Day 2023 was ‘Uniting the Digital World’. In keeping with this, Ashton-Smith shared advice on collaboration and partnership for the emerging content creators and social media influencers who were present.
“You have to be authentic in the content you are creating, and it must stand up to scrutiny all the time. You also have to be thoughtful about who you align with because you must always think about what this could create as a headline,” she said.
Joel Nomdarkham, CEO of Amplified Studios which co-hosted the mixer, lauded Red Stripe for its support of Jamaica’s creatives.
“World Social Media Day recognises the importance of social media in culture, development, communication, and so many other areas. Some brands still see the creative sector as not critical to their business.
“Red Stripe has really taken on the mantle to establish its presence and bestow its support to this specific industry. I’m forever thankful that they see the value in providing spaces and supporting initiatives geared towards supporting the professional development of young people,” said Nomdarkham.
