WORLD CUP GOAL
Jamaica’s national senior women’s football team, the Reggae Girlz, will face France in their 2023 FIFA World Cup group opener at 5:00 am Sunday local time with the weight of the nation’s hopes on their shoulders.
Jamaica made history at the previous edition, four years ago, becoming the first Caribbean country to qualify for a Women’s World Cup tournament. However, while the Girlz failed to win any of their group matches, they now seek to change that, and Head Coach Lorne Donaldson says they will go into the encounter with one goal in mind — defeating their opponents.
