Cambridge FC score big win to open St James FA U20
ST JAMES, Jamaica— Shamour Smith scored twice to lead Cambridge FC to a 5-0 win over Green Pond High in their opening St James Football Association Under 20 Football Competition at Green Pond on Thursday.
Cambridge FC won the competition the last time it was contested in 2019 and got off to a fast start.
Five teams will be a part of the competition after Irwin Academy withdrew after the start of the competition.
On Friday, Cornwall College and Spot Valley High played out a 0-0 draw at Spot Valley.
On Thursday, Smith scored two goals after his team lead 2-0 at half time.
Davion McLean scored in the ninth minute to give Cambridge FC the lead while Tajay McIntyre added a second goal in the 10th minute.
Smith scored his first goal in the 49th minute and then completed his brace in the 60th minute before Otian Barnes made it 5-0 in the 68th minute.
