Big bills for pepper spray attack
MONTEGO BAY, St James — Two St James men who pepper sprayed a mechanic before breaking his arm are now making restitution.
Michael Rose, 35, of Mafoota District and Lottroy Fearon, 40, of Granville, are charged with assault occasioning bodily harm.
The case was heard in the St James Parish Court last Friday where Rose gave the complainant $45,000, while Fearon gave him $4,000.
Rose now has an $88,000 balance, while Fearon has a balance of $226,000.
After the funds were handed over, presiding judge Sasha-Marie Smith-Ashley informed Fearon that he needed to do better before scheduling the matter for mention on September 1. The men’s bails were extended.
Both men were allegedly involved in a dispute with the complainant, and on February 28 they went to his place of business on Deans Lane and attacked him while his back was turned.
They allegedly squirted pepper spray into his eyes, causing temporary blindness, and broke his left arm with a metal pipe.
The matter was reported to the police and both men were arrested and charged.
