What was more important than the Grand Gala, Golding?
Dear Editor,
The Grand Gala, which represents the pinnacle of Jamaica 61 celebrations, was a glorious affair.
I watched the Grand Gala and burst with pride at the achievements of our country, in particular in the areas of culture, entertainment, and sports.
I salute Culture Minister Olivia Grange for doing it so well yet again.
It was good to hear performances from Morgan Heritage, Ding Dong and Machel Montano. The display of an array of dance formations and skills also added glitter to a most auspicious occasion.
Attendees appeared touched by the display of some of the best of Jamaica.
However, I was disappointed that Opposition Leader Mark Golding did not show up for the Grand Gala, which was held at the National Stadium and sent a Member of Parliament to represent him.
I wish to ask Golding, what was more important than an event held to mark Jamaica’s 61st year of Independence?
