UPDATE: St Mary father charged after allegedly killing cabbie accused of raping daughter

ST MARY, Jamaica — A St Mary man has been charged with murder after he allegedly chopped to death a taxi operator who is accused of raping his teen daughter.

Dead is 34-year-old Negus Dacosta.

Police say Dacosta was chopped to death on August 16 after the 13-year-old girl told her father that he raped her.

Lawmen say the father allegedly attacked Dacosta and chopped him several times. He was rushed to hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The father, also a taxi operator, turned himself in to the police on Monday.

He was charged on Wednesday.
