Medikk’s mother to close down missing daughter’s business

KINGSTON, Jamaica —Millicent McCurdy, the mother of missing entertainer, Medikk, says she is being forced to close down her daughter’s business some three weeks after she went missing. McCurdy, a businesswoman herself, said she doesn’t believe she can manage to keep her daughter’s business, Reborn Holistics, up and running.

“I have to close the business, I have to give up the lease for her business place which is over [$]180,000 per month. They’re going to want their rent, the landlady is going to give me this month free because there is a month in the back, but I can’t take on my daughter’s business,” McCurdy told OBSERVER ONLINE.

“This is what crime does, it kills dreams, it kills businesses. This business was so promising, you could see it in the number of followers on her business page online, she was already in most of the pharmacies islandwide. She had a sales rep, she was making products, she was contributing to the economy…her serum and her roll-on were doing well, it could have grown more.”

McCurdy, who dubbed her daughter a ‘successful businesswoman in her own right’, said the company specialised in the manufacturing and distribution of natural, personal care and skin care items.

“Stephanie is so gifted, she didn’t go to school for it, she bought equipment, taught herself. Now, she is missing, she has disappeared without a trace. God help me,” she said while making an appeal to ‘any wholesalers with any monies outstanding for her daughter, to make payments so she could wind up the company.

According to the police, 29-year-old Stephanie ‘Medikk’ Williams was last seen wearing a black blouse, black tights and a pair of black shoes. She is of brown complexion, slim build and is about 5 feet 7 inches. Anyone with information can call 311, and if the information leads to her safe return, they will have access to a $1-million reward.

Medikk is best known for songs such as Money Feelings and her growing catalogue of collaborations such as Overcome featuring Shane O, and Boss Level featuring Jahvillani.
