US citizen charged following fatal crash in St Elizabeth
ST ELIZABETH, Jamaica – A US citizen charged with causing death by dangerous driving was granted bail in the sum of $300,000 in relation to last Friday’s fatal crash on the Font Hill main road in St Elizabeth.
Charged is Caleb Ampiah-Davis, a resident of Utah.
The fatal crash claimed the lives of Savanna-La-Mar Primary School Spanish teacher Danielle Blake, 31, and taxi operator Hector Munroe.
Police said Ampiah-Davis, who was the driver of a Mitsubishi L200, is to return to court in St Elizabeth on November 23.
Reports are that about 11:30 am, a Mitsubishi L200, heading towards Black River, swerved to avoid a pothole and collided with the taxi in which Blake was a passenger.

Blake was pronounced dead at hospital while the others were admitted for treatment. Munroe succumbed at hospital on Monday.
Six other people were also injured in the incident.
