LETHBRIDGE, Canada (CMC) — Jamaican riders continued to shine at Rocky Mountain Turf Club here, Orlando Foster and Andre Powell both logging braces on Saturday’s six-race card.

Foster won the day’s opener with favourite Runnin Baby J before returning in race four to win with near-favourite Capalli.

Powell, meanwhile, paired with 15-1 bet Saturday Service to win race two, before adding to his tally in race three with 5-1 chance Minimum Noise.

Another Jamaican, Larris Allen, leads the standings with 10 wins but went winless in four outings on the programme.

Foster was first to the winners’ enclosure, pairing with four-year-old filly Running Baby J to edge out the three-year-old and upward fillies and mares by a neck in a 5½-furlong sprint.

Running Baby J broke well but was forced to duel throughout with Moore’s Miracle before prevailing in a tight finish.

Foster registered his second win in a five-furlong dash, producing a gate-to-wire effort with nine-year-old bay mare Capalli to get the better of the three-year-old and upward fillies and mares by 1¼ lengths.

Powell joined the fray when he combined with five-year-old mare Saturday Service to dismiss the three-year-old and upward fillies and mares by four lengths over 5½ furlongs.

Two-to-one choice Dazzling Mist stormed to an impressive lead before Saturday Service came from a stalking position to snatch the advantage.

Powell followed up quickly when he and seven-year-old gelding Minimum Noise duelled with favourite Phantom Drop, before getting to the finish by 3¼ lengths.
