Yeza releases empowering single ‘Organic’ celebrating natural beauty
Roots artist Yeza has collaborated with legendary producer Rory Stone Love on a new single titled ‘Organic.’ The track, inspired by 90s dancehall vibes, promotes a healthy lifestyle and self-love, celebrating the natural beauty of women’s bodies at a time when cosmetic surgery is popular.
Yeza explained that she was inspired to write the song to address questions about whether she had undergone enhancements due to her curvy figure.
“I was inspired to write this song because I felt really compelled to speak on my lifestyle—I go to the gym and workout— as well as represent other women who probably feel like they aren’t hot because of the overall beauty trends happening these days,” Yeza explained to Observer Online.
“I have also been getting a lot of speculation from people around, asking me if I’ve done enhancements or BBLs and I feel like it’s time to clear the air on this topic. I did have to make dem know say we —the natural body women— still have the buzz. Just take care of yourself, eat right and exercise whether you’re slim, thick or on the fluffy side,” the artiste said.
The single, Yeza explained, is geared towards giving women a boost in self-confidence, and encouraging others that having surgery to attain a certain body does not have to be the first option.
The artiste believes that taking care of the body in its natural state can also “look amazing”.
And it seems the message is already reaching some women since its release on September 22.
“The ladies are pouring out! Women are telling me they needed it and they’ve been sending me videos of themselves vibing to the track. The men are also showing me love for representing organic beauty. My heart is full already with the messages I’m receiving from women saying they needed this and people telling me it’s a hit song already, truly grateful!” Yeza said excitedly.
The artiste cautioned, however, that this track is not aimed at women who opt to do surgery to enhance their beauty. Instead, Yeza told Observer Online that she is on a mission to encourage and motivate women to embrace the natural form.
“I feel like I’m not against their choice because I think we ultimately get to do what we want with ourselves. I just de pon my mission. I am on my particular journey to encourage another type of lifestyle, one closest to nature, and this mission is motivated by the love and respect I have for myself and other women, so I’m doing this out of love so I don’t fear backlash,” the artiste explained.
‘Organic’ is a part of Yeza’s upcoming album, Star of the East which is being produced by Rory Stone Love / Black Dub Music.
When asked to describe her experience working with Rory Stone Love, the artiste disclosed that it has been a learning experience, with both of them working cohesively to bring the vision of the album to fruition.
“First of all, it’s an honor to work with him because it’s always been a dream of mine since I entered the music scene. We have a lot of creative chemistry we feel out the sounds and he guides me on my expressions and I offer suggestions on different things as well during the creative process. I feel it’s a great harmony between us, we understand each other’s direction and usually agree on the result. He’s taught me a lot in terms of taking the craft seriously and working on my particular unique sound,” she said.
‘Organic’ can be streamed on all major music platforms and on YouTube.
