Lit ignites as promoters target continued growth
The fifth anniversary of Lit:Same Flame exceeded the organisers’ expectations at the National Stadium car park in St Andrew on Saturday night.
“We got our expected turnout, perhaps even bigger than what we expected and for that we give thanks,” Okeen Blanford, co-founder of party promoters BONZ Entertainment, told the Jamaica Observer.
The event saw entertainment from a slew of disc jockeys including A-Team, Kevi The Kinetic, DJ Stone, and Kryptic alongside Fyahman. VIP patrons also got additional treats including food, an elevated platform and ‘Lit’ branded tumblers.
Meanwhile, there was a customised backdrop and designated photo area for all patrons to use. The cherry on top was the firefighter props available to accentuate the set.
Meanwhile, Blanford said the BONZ Entertainment team, which also comprises Akeem Hines, Odean Bernard, and Zayne Hull, as well as a few select executive members, pulled out all the stops to ensure a successful staging.
“Planning an event is always difficult because there are always ups and downs. But, we always find a way to get around it,” he explained, adding that the highlight of the night was the last segment featuring A-Team.
After a five-year success rate with hosting the Lit:Same Flame and Lit:Chick Flick series, Blanford anticipates that the brand will continue to evolve in short order.
“Currently, we use the National Stadium car park, in the future, we expect significant growth so that we will have to host our events inside the stadium,” he said.
The co-organiser also took the opportunity to express gratitude to all their loyal stakeholders and supporters.
“I’d first like to say thank you to the team, thank you to the patrons and just expect bigger and better from the ‘Lit’ family,” Blanford said.
