The $1.4-million Mark My Word Trophy, an Open Allowance contest for three-year-olds and upward, takes centre stage on tomorrow’s nine-race programme.

The nine furlong and 25 yards (1,820m) event has attracted a small field of six runners which include Blue Vinyl, last year’s double Classic winner.

The Jamaica Observer’s The Supreme Racing Guide takes a close look at each runner and their chances of winning.

1. OUTBIDDER: (4 b f by Savoy Stomp – Rumble) – Came home fourth behind Horse of the Year Atomica in the recent Menudo Trophy over 10 furlongs (2,000m). Little or no improvement is expected from Outbidder here.

2. D HEAD CORNERSTONE: (4 b c by Bern Identity – Soul Of The Heart) – Is going to enjoy this distance and could make the frame.

3. I REALISE: (4 b g by Northern Giant – Regina Royale) – Came off a five-month break and won the Bridge FM99 Trophy over 7 furlongs (1,400m) on September 30. I Realise defeated Rainsville by a short head in a driving finish to the line. The Alford Brown trainee now steps up here to compete and is going to find repeating a very tall order here.

4. GONE A NEGRIL: (5 ch h by Bern Identity – Kiri) – Has no realistic chance of winning.

5. MINIATURE MAN: (5 ch g by Northern Giant – Runaway Gal) – Consistent sort who should run a very brave race here. Miniature Man finished second by 3 ½ lengths behind Atomica in the Menudo Trophy on September 23. Miniature Man, trained by champion conditioner Jason DaCosta, looks the likely runner to challenge Blue Vinyl for top honours here.

6. BLUE VINYL: (4 ch c by Bern Identity –Blufield) – On paper looks the horse to beat. Blue Vinyl was just beaten by a short head by Is That A Fact in the Poorlitllerichgirl Trophy over 7 furlongs on September 16. Prior to that, Blue Vinyl was an easy winner over this distance in a time of 1:57.0 in the Kenneth Matthis Memorial Trophy on September 16. Blue Vinyl should be the winner here.
