Fire near Riverton dump, traffic diverted

KINGSTON, Jamaica — A section of Spanish Town Road in St Andrew, between Six Miles and Weymouth Drive, is now closed as firefighters work to contain a blaze near the Riverton dump.

According to the police’s corporate communications unit, vehicles are now being diverted to Weymouth Drive from the east to Washington Boulevard.

It is unclear how the fire started. Investigations are ongoing.
