FIVE juveniles, including unbeaten runners Digital One and Run Julie Run, are down to contest the Hover Craft Sprint on tomorrow’s (October 28) 10-race card.
The stakes event for native-bred and imported two-year-olds will be run run over six furlongs (1,200m) for a total purse of $2 million.
The Jamaica Observer‘s The Supreme Racing Guide takes a close look at the runners and their chances of winning.
1. BLU SENSATION: (2 b f by Sensational Slam – Blues In The Grass) – Has not really shown any sparkle in her two starts to date, suggesting that she has a winning chance. Blu Sensation finished in fifth place by over nine lengths behind stablemate Run Julie Run going five furlongs (1,000m) on October 15, and should run a similar race.
2. ROSETTA: (2 rn f by Bold Conquest –Khadiliah) – Well-bred filly who finished third on debut by 3¾ lengths behind Ms Cherry at five furlongs (1,000m) straight on September 30. With the experience gained, Rosetta is expected to deliver another pleasing performance.
3. DIGITAL ONE (USA): (2 b f by Uncle Lino – Legal Redemption) – Made a smashing debut over five and a half furlongs (1,100m) on October 7. Digital One won that call by 2½ lengths, beating stablemate Banadura in an impressive 1:06.3. Digital One has been working really well for this race, and given his class and talent he should make it two wins in a row.
4. LUCY IN THE SKY: (2 b f by Liquidity – Tap A Bay Yankee) – The most experienced runner in the line-up with three runs but Lucy In The Sky is not expected to win.
5. RUN JULIE RUN: (2 gr f by Successful Native – Runaway Julie) – Nicely bred filly who was a winner on debut. Run Julie Run outbattled Queen of Soul by a head in a five-furlong round event on October 15. With room for improvement and given her talent, Run Julie Run can upset the favouirte.
