22-y-o man charged following alleged robbery of woman’s cell phone
A man has been charged after he allegedly robbed a woman of her Samsung cellylar phone along Hagley Park Road, Kingston 10 on October 29.
Charged is 22-year-old Leyan Ward of Omara Road, Kingston 10. He has been charged with robbery with aggravation and unlawful wounding.
Reports are that about 9:00 pm, the woman was walking along the above-mentioned roadway when she was approached by Ward who was armed with a knife. He proceeded to rob the complainant of her phone valued at $29,000.
During the incident the complainant received wounds to her left hand, right elbow and right knee.
She later reported the matter to the police and Ward was later apprehended.
He was charged on Monday, October 30.
