11 provisionally entered for Jamaica Cup
Eleven runners including two past winners are provisionally entered for the third running 2023 Jamaica Cup, a Graded Stakes event for three-year-olds and upward going 9 ½ furlongs (1,900m).
The Jamaica Cup, the final major race before the second staging of the ultra-rich Mouttet Mile (invitational) on December 2, is set to take place on Saturday, November 11, as a highlight of Jamaica Day.
Further and Beyond, the event’s first winner in 2021, and Atomica, the event’s winner last year, are among those competing. Atomica holds the event record with a time of 1:57.3.
If the trio of She’s My Destiny, this year’s Gold Cup winner; Blue Vinyl, last year’s 2000 Guineas and St Leger winner; and the brilliant American-bred Runaway Algo are to face the starter, the race should draw a lot more attention.
Below is the list of the 11 horses currently entered in the 2023 Jamaica Cup.
