The Pan Jamaica Group recently hosted the third instalment of the Maurice Facey Lecture Series at the ROK Hotel on Tuesday, October 31, 2023. The event, held under the theme, ‘Value of a Vision – The Transformative Power of an Actionable Plan’, featured Eleanor Sharpe, director of the Department of Planning and Development in Philadelphia, as the keynote speaker and Stephen Facey, chairman of the Pan Jamaica Group, who delivered opening remarks.

During the lecture, Sharpe delved into her community development approach, highlighting the fundamental principles that have guided her in shaping a city plan. As the event’s first Jamaican-born keynote speaker, Sharpe shared practical examples illustrating how a shared vision, combined with meticulously crafted plans, can lead to remarkable urban transformations, yielding tangible social and economic impacts. The Business Social captures the highlights.
