JC make progress in Manning Cup

KINGSTON, Jamaica – Jamaica College (JC) secured a well-needed win in their bid to retain the ISSA Digicel Manning Cup, after a 2-1 victory over Tivoli Gardens at Stadium East on Tuesday afternoon.

Jayd Johnson put the Dark Blues ahead in the 16th minute but Tivoli’s Dwayne Johnson leveled the proceedings in the 50th. However, after Romario Haynes was sent off for Tivoli in the 65th minute, JC took full advantage as Dyllan John scored the winner in the 66th minute.

The win moves JC to three points in Group 2 of the quarter-final round with a game to play. Tivoli’s chances of advancing to the semi- finals are slim following back-to-back defeats.
