A Thanksgiving Love Story

A Thanksgiving Love Story

On the scenic shores of Montego Bay, Rashaun Henderson, a finance manager, and Patrice Rose, a registered nurse, sealed their love on Sunday, October 22, 2023. The affair was captured through the lens of Mark Brown of MBredcarpet, freezing in time the magical moments of their special day.

The ceremony took place at the enchanting White Witch Golf Course in Rose Hall, where Reverend Nakia Johnson officiated the union.

Rashaun and Patrice, both Jamaicans currently residing in Georgia, USA, met when Patrice visited Rashaun’s workplace for a routine oil change. There was immediate chemistry! Patrice was attracted to Rashaun’s warm personality. Both loved their shared heritage. Numerous phone calls, texts and dates later led to a proposal on Thanksgiving Day 2021.

Patrice shared the moment with Tuesday Style Vows (TSV). “We have a [Thanksgiving] family tradition that on this day we all get together, cook, play games, listen to music, and catch up on the year’s events. But most importantly, before eating we gather around the dining table and share with each other a few things we are thankful for. When it was Rashaun’s time to share, he expressed how thankful he was to have me. The surprise followed when he went down on one knee, and asked me to marry him… I was shocked, overjoyed but delighted at the prospect of becoming his wife. My response through tears was an empahtic ‘Yes!'”

Here Comes The Bride

Wedding Planner Plus, led by Michelle Levene-Phillips, was contracted to handle décor and catering and did an amazing job of transforming the venue. The colour scheme of gold, black, and white created an atmosphere of sophistication and timeless elegance.

For her special day Patrice opted for a Cinderella gown from Elegant Bridals in Augusta, Georgia. Her bouquet comprised blush pink and white roses. A Thousand Years by Christina Perri signalled the start of her walk up the aisle where her bridegroom in an off-white tuxedo eagerly awaited her.

“The musical selections Endless Love by Luther Vandross and Mariah Carey for the bridesmaids’ processional, Spend my Life with You by Eric Benet ft Tamia for the signing of the register, and the lively Crazy in Love by Beyoncé for the entrance of the wedding party. were carefully chosen and will forever be ours,” shared Patrice with TSV.

“The reception,” she continued, “I’d like to describe as whimsical, and featured a gender reveal that was as much as a shock as it was a delight… Our family and friends all gathered around after the announcement of the gender to congratulate us on our new bundle of joy — our baby girl.”

After dinner, toasts, and the cutting of the three-tiered cake, that featured a delightful combination of flavours – the first tier was a traditional fruit cake, the second a decadent red velvet, and the third, black forest; it was non-stop dancing.

A romantic getaway to either St Lucia or the Maldives is on the cards for the newly-weds.
