Dunbeholden win back-to-back games in JPL
KINGSTON, Jamaica – Dunbeholden FC won back-to-back games in the Jamaica Premier League (JPL) after beating last placed Molynes United 2-1 in the second game of a double-header at the Stadium East complex on Sunday.
After picking up two points from their first four games and failing to score a goal, Dunbeholden scored four goals, two each in their last two outings, with Nicholas Nelson accounting for all four goals scored.
On Sunday, Nelson scored in the 14th and 54th minutes against the team he played for last season, while brother and former strike partner, Jermy Nelson scored Molynes’ consolation from the penalty spot in the 88th minute.
Meanwhile, in the first game, Javier Brown scored a double to lead Vere United to a 4-1 beating of promoted Lime Hall Academy.
Brown opened the scoring when he scored from the penalty spot in the 16th minute but Lime Hall Academy FC equalised three minutes later through Darius Stewart.
Kemar Beckford scored in back- to- back games as he restored Vere United’s lead in the 48th minute, Alrick Maitland scored in the 62nd minute to make the scores 3-1 before Brown completed his brace in the 75th minute.
